Register with our practice

We are currently registering new patients. The quickest and easiest way to register is by completing an online registration form. Alternatively call into the surgery if this is easier for you.

Who can register

We accept patients across Manchester.

If you live outside our practice boundary, you’ll register as an out-of-area patient.

Important (please read before registering):

You can still access our same day appointment system
Out-of-area patients cannot receive home visits from the practice
You must be able to travel to the surgery for any face-to-face appointments
Not recommended if you are housebound or have significant mobility issues

Privacy Notice Update: Online Registrations

To provide an efficient and secure registration service, Millgate Healthcare uses a third-party clinical technology provider called Healthtech-1.

When you register with the practice online, your data is collected via a secure digital form and processed by Healthtech-1 on our behalf. This allows us to:

Verify your details with the NHS Spine quickly.
Accurately transfer your health information into our clinical system (EMIS).
Ensure your medical records are available to our clinical team as soon as possible.

Security and Data Protection Healthtech-1 acts as a Data Processor under our strict instructions. They are fully compliant with the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and use industry-standard encryption to keep your data safe. Your information is only used for the purpose of your registration and is not shared with any unauthorised third parties.

Temporary Registrations

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

Named GP

All patients registered at the Surgery have a named doctor who has overall responsibility for your care and support. If you choose to see another doctor at the surgery you are entirely free to go on doing so exactly as before.
